Valhalla Supermassive

Valhalla Supermassive is a free reverb and delay plugin from Valhalla DSP, built around algorithms designed for extreme spaces and long, modulated decay. It offers 14 modes that range from tight, early-reflection-focused spaces to reverb tails that stretch into minutes and feedback delays that recirculate almost indefinitely. The modes are organized around the concept of mass: the MASS control adjusts how much energy is retained in the feedback path, and combined with the WARP control (which modulates the feedback delays), the plugin can produce anything from a lightly shimmer-washed hall to a thick, evolving drone that bears little resemblance to a physical space.

Despite being free, Supermassive covers serious production ground. It’s particularly useful on synth pads, ambient textures, and sound design work where you want reverb that becomes part of the sound rather than a spatial treatment. All 14 algorithms are CPU-efficient and the interface fits a single screen without scrolling. It runs as VST, AU, and AAX on Windows and macOS.
