Kirchhoff EQ

Kirchhoff EQ

Kirchhoff-EQ is a 32-band parametric EQ from Three Body Technology built around high-precision digital processing and a large library of filter options. It offers 15 filter types with continuously variable shape parameters, plus 32 vintage EQ models drawn from hardware references. The dynamic EQ section is particularly well-developed: each band can operate with two-way thresholds, an adjustable onset control, and a relative detection mode that lets you compress and expand the same frequency region simultaneously, which is useful for stabilising problem bands without over-processing.

Internally, Kirchhoff-EQ runs in 64-bit by default and uses a Double-Double arithmetic technique that pushes effective internal precision to 117 bits. The filter topology uses Psychoacoustic Adaptive Filter Topologies, which adjusts the filter structure based on frequency to avoid the high-frequency cramping issues that affect standard IIR designs. It handles the full range of EQ tasks without trading off at either end of the spectrum. Mid-side processing, oversampling, lookahead, spectrum grab, and stereo width control are all included.
