MacBook M4 Pro 14 inch

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Pro runs on Apple’s M4 Pro chip, available in 12-core CPU/16-core GPU or 14-core CPU/20-core GPU configurations, with 24GB unified memory as the base option. The unified memory architecture means the CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine all pull from the same memory pool with no bandwidth penalty between them, which matters practically when running a large plugin session alongside video or AI tools simultaneously. Battery life is rated between 14 and 22 hours depending on task, and the 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display runs at 254ppi with ProMotion adaptive refresh up to 120Hz.

For audio work, the machine carries three Thunderbolt 5 ports, an HDMI 2.1 output, an SD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack with high-impedance headphone support. The M4 Pro handles plugin-heavy sessions in Logic Pro and Ableton without thermal throttling under sustained load, which is where previous Intel-based MacBook Pros consistently fell short. It replaced the M3 Pro lineup in late 2024.
