Korg multi/poly
The Korg multi/poly is a 37-key analog modeling synthesizer introduced in late 2024, drawing its name and conceptual lineage from the classic 1981 Korg Mono/Poly. Each program runs four oscillators — configurable as Classic (analog modeling), Digital (wavetable, with over 200 factory tables and import support), or Waveshaper (West Coast-style harmonic shaping with over 90 shaper types) — along with a noise generator, ring mod, sync, and cross-modulation. Two independent filters per program draw from a suite of vintage-modeled types, including five 4-pole self-resonating designs. Polyphony tops out at 60 voices. A built-in Kaoss Physics pad and Motion Sequencing 2.0 handle performance and automation.
For trance and progressive production, the multi/poly covers a lot of ground. The classic oscillator section handles thick, layered lead and pad sounds, and the wavetable mode opens up more complex, evolving textures. The filter suite is strong enough to get both surgical and musical results without reaching for external processing. Four DAHDSR envelopes, five LFOs, and six mod processors per program give the modulation architecture real depth — it rewards time investment and responds well to modulation-heavy sound design.
