SpectraLayers Pro 12

SpectraLayers Pro 12 is a spectral audio editor and stem separation tool. Like iZotope RX, its primary interface is a spectrogram — audio displayed as frequency versus time with amplitude shown by color — but SpectraLayers is built more explicitly around layer-based editing. Stems (vocals, instruments, noise, ambience) can be separated into individual layers using the AI-driven unmix system, and each layer can then be edited, repaired, or processed independently. The separation results are among the best available in a single software application, particularly for music with complex arrangements.

Beyond unmixing, SpectraLayers handles spectral repair, noise reduction, artifact removal, and frequency-domain transformations. The selection tools work like a graphics editor: brush, lasso, and frequency-range selection all operate on the spectrogram directly. Version 12 improves the Voices and Drums unmix models, adds a new tool for de-reverbing audio in layers, and introduces ARA2 integration for use within Cubase, Studio One, and other ARA-compatible hosts without leaving the DAW. It runs on Windows and macOS with Apple Silicon support.
