Spectrasonics Omnisphere 3

Omnisphere 3 is Spectrasonics’ flagship software synthesizer, released in 2025 after a decade of development since version 2. The sound engine combines sample playback with wavetable, FM, and granular synthesis, with over 600 morphing wavetables and a new collection focused on modern electronic production. The filter section was substantially overhauled with 35 new filters, circuit-modelled saturation, and portamento modes modelled after specific vintage analog circuits including the Oberheim OBXa, Moog ladder, ARP Odyssey, and Yamaha CS-80 glissando curves. A polyphonic dual frequency shifter, fully modulatable and routable in parallel or series, is one of the more unusual additions to the engine.

The library ships with 26,000 patches across 18 new sound collections, and the OmniFX engine now functions as a standalone plugin carrying 35 effects. Hardware Integration has been expanded to over 300 controller and synthesizer profiles, maintaining the workflow where a supported hardware synth acts as a physical front end for Omnisphere. Omnisphere 3 is sold directly through Spectrasonics and authorized dealers and is not available through Plugin Boutique.
