Updates!

Quick update on what’s going on… My Patreon page is back online, and I’ve got a bunch of ideas and goals for 2025.

I originally stepped away from producing YouTube content for what was supposed to be a month or two, that then turned into a year and half. Post covid, I started working with KVR Audio both running their operations and writing, reviewing, and working with several developers and music companies. That still takes up a bunch of time now.

I then started my Marula Music record label… I’ve moved a lot of my creative output now to things I can control. I’ve had a great career with the various labels I’ve worked with but really felt the need to remove myself from the ‘rat race’ that is the music business, and try focus myself on things I really want to do.

Finally, I’ve been dealing with being diagnosed with ADHD, which has taken some getting used to. I’ve always had issues I took no notice of whilst I was purely focused on music and touring but since taking on so many different roles, it’s been a process figuring out how to deal with it. On top of that, I moved my studio to another room which has been a monumental process (at least for my OCD self) to get comfortable with and sounding right.

So enough about that… what’s happening here in the future? I promised myself I’d get more releases out this year, but I’m also wanting to commit to getting back to doing some content outside of Sonic Academy videos for my own channel. The goal here is to make music I want to make, share videos of stuff I find interesting and in the process make some cool stuff available for you, the community in terms of sound design and sharing various aspects of my creative output.
